Arizona Life Is Interest on Home Mortgages Front-End Loaded?
Yahoo! Finance
It is often said that the interest on home mortgages is "front-end loaded", implying that the way lenders charge interest is both unfair and self-serving -- possibly even sinister. The following statement is typical. "Did you know that on your typical 30-year mortgage, it takes approximately 21 years just to pay down less than half of the principal of your loan?"

Arizona Life Border Patrol and Mexican Police Make History in Arizona
ProPublica
In a politically sensitive operation at the Arizona-Mexico border, U.S. Border Patrol agents and Mexican federal police officers are training together, sharing intelligence and coordinating patrols for the first time. The goal of the historic partnership: a systematic joint attack on northbound flows of drugs and migrants, and southbound shipments of guns and cash. California Life 'Avatar' is visually stunning
San Francisco Chronicle
"Avatar" isn't a perfect film - and a few cliches short of a great one - but at its best, you'll leave the theater feeling puny and dazed, certain you just spent two hours and 41 minutes on a lush alien moon watching 10-foot blue people re-enact the

Colorado Life Living with Wildlife in Lion Country
Colorado Division of Wildlife
Mountain lions are generally calm, quiet, and elusive. They tend to live in remote, primitive country. Lions are most commonly found in areas with plentiful deer and adequate cover. Such conditions exist in mountain subdivisions, urban fringes, and open spaces. Consequently, the number of mountain lion/human interactions has increased.

Arizona Life Cave Creek Canyon full of wildlife, quiet corners
Arizona Republic
The road to Portal is long and straight, a black slash across long valleys of yellow grass, yucca and scrub, the hard desert ground between southeastern Arizona's sky-island mountain ranges and New Mexico's western edge. When you reach Portal and look into Cave Creek Canyon, the view changes. Drawn by this view, you're likely to pass right through Portal without stopping.

California Life No escape from 'Shutter Island'
San Francisco Chronicle
If Martin Scorsese weren't aware of himself as a great filmmaker, he could never have made a movie as bad as "Shutter Island." The potential was here for some trashy fun, for a punchy, 100-minute edge-of-your-seat thriller. Instead, Scorsese tries to transform Dennis Lehane's novel into an epic psychological investigation. He stuffs the film with heavy-handed art direction and piles on a ludicrously ominous soundtrack. The soundtrack is a constant reminder of the movie's importance and only high

Arizona Life Arizona speed cameras incite a mini revolt
Los Angeles Times
Arizonans drive long distances on their highways, and they like to do it fast. But since the Grand Canyon State began enforcing speed limits with roadside cameras, motorists are raging against the machines: They have blocked out the lenses with Post-it notes or Silly String. During the Christmas holidays, they covered the cameras with boxes, complete with wrapping paper.
